 Honduras power sector started a deep restructuring in 1994, as a consequence of a crisis. As a result, a new Electricity Law was elaborated which opened the possibility to generate, transmit and distribute energy, which was being managed exclusively by the state-owned Empresa Nacional de Energia Electrica (ENEE).
