„Die Initiative ‚Grüne Bürgerenergie für Afrika‘ wird bei der Elektrifizierung ländlicher Regionen dann besonders erfolgreich, wenn sie auf die guten Ansätze zurückgreift, die es schon gibt. Mir ist dabei die Ausbildung junger Afrikaner*innen im Bereich erneuerbare Energien besonders wichtig, weil sie als qualifizierte Fachkräfte in ihrer Heimat wirksam zur nachhaltigen Entwicklung beitragen können.“
