Another eventful year is coming to an end and we would like to thank all of you for making it a successful one! We especially thank our financial supporters who enabled energypedia to keep on running and to become an independent nonprofit organization in April 2012. But we would also like to thank all active energypedia users around the world!
- Without your commitment, energypedia would be small and unkown. But the energypedia community is still growing and has recently reached more than 2,200 registered users.
- Without your content contributions energypedia would be empty and uninteresting. But independent from energypedia's *****, articles are written and updated by our users.
- Without your deep conviction in a better world, energypedia could not persue the vision of a world of free knowledge exchange and mutual learning on renewable energies in which everyone has access to sustainable energy sources. But our positive experiences in the last years make us believe that we - the energypedia community - can actively contribute to the goal of sustainable energy for all.

First Vietnamese Project Joins Voluntary Gold Standard
The Vietnam Biogas Program, initiated by SNV and the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Developmenthas in 2003, achieved registration under the Gold Standard in November this year. According to SNV, it is the first registered project under the Voluntary Gold Standard in Vietnam and the second largest household energy project registered globally.

Last Call for Papers - 3rd Symposium Small PV-Applications
The 3rd Symposium on Small PV Applications will take place in Ulm, Germany on June 17th/18th, 2013. Papers on the following topics can still be handed in until January 4th, 2013:
- Electricity supply for remote rural households away from the national grid
- Provision of electricity to public institutions
- Electricity for industrial use and income generating infrastructure
- New concepts for integrated “over-the-counter PV products” often called “pico-systems”
- Electricity supply for urban households as backup to increase reliability
- Components such as charge controllers and batteries or other alternatives for energy storage
- Policy, financial aspects and market development for off-grid PV
