This virtual event will have a regional focus on Africa, will aim at:
- encouraging more ambitious climate action by all governments in Africa, including the submission of updated NDCs and long-term climate/energy strategies in support of the goals *set out in the Paris Agreement;
sharing regional experience on the domestic energy systems transformation required to *achieve the GHG reduction targets set by NDCs of African countries;
deepening the understanding on the opportunities offered by the energy sector in the *decarbonization efforts; and
- broadening the knowledge and understanding of the role of NDCs in achieving the long-term goals of the Paris Agreement, including, the opportunities to maximize the socioeconomic benefits of the energy transition.
