The African Development Bank (AfDB) wishes to recruit a consultant under theSustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA). SEFA is a multi-donor Special Fund managed by the African Development Bank providing catalytic finance to unlock private sector investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency. SEFA avails technical assistance and concessional finance instruments to remove market barriers, build a more robust pipeline of projects and improve the risk-return profile of individual investments. SEFA’s overarching goal is to contribute to universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy services for all in Africa, in line with the New Deal on Energy for Africa and Sustainable Development Goal7.The Fundis housed in the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Department (PERN) under the Power, Energy, Climate, and Green Growth (PEVP) complex.
Under the supervision of the Director of PERN and the Manager of the Renewable Energy Division (PERN1.) and SEFA Coordinator,the consultant will provide commercial and technicaladvice to support mini-grid investment activities of PERN and the SEFA Technical Unit. This will include performing the following activities:(i) programme management; (ii) development, due diligence, and assessment of potential investments; (iii)portfoliomanagement of existing projects; (iv) monitoring, evaluation and reporting functions; (v) knowledge management, marketing, and communications; (vi) legal, procurement, and contract management;(viii)government and stakeholder relations; (ix)Other related tasks as reasonably requested by PERNmanagement. The consultant will be located in either Maputo, Mozambique or Luanda, Angola and is anticipated tohave a100% full-time-equivalentcontract for a durationof up to 12 months
